Description

Ingredients

  • 200 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 g finely ground almonds
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Icing sugar, food coloring, edible flowers for decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Whisk flour, almond meal, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll dough into 25 g balls and place on trays, flatten slightly.
  7. Bake 12–15 min until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on trays 5 min, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Decorate with icing or edible flowers once completely cooled.

  • Toast almonds lightly for enhanced flavor.
  • Chill sticky dough for easier handling.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze undecorated for 3 months.
