Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Pound chicken breasts to ½-inch thickness.
  3. Prepare dredging station: flour, beaten eggs, breadcrumb-Parmesan mix.
  4. Coat chicken in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs.
  5. Sear chicken in olive oil until golden, 2–3 minutes per side.
  6. Place in baking dish, spoon marinara sauce over, sprinkle mozzarella.
  7. Bake 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with basil and let rest 5 minutes before serving.
