- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 250g caster sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 100g plain flour
- 50g cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional: 100g chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20cm square tin with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth.
- Mix in sugar, then beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
- Sift flour, cocoa, and salt, then fold into chocolate mixture gently.
- Add walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour into tin, smooth top, and bake 25–30 minutes.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor. Avoid overmixing after adding flour to keep brownies fudgy. Store in an airtight container up to 5 days, or freeze individually.
