Description
These are the best cookies ever—soft, chewy, and packed with melty chocolate chips. Perfect for sharing with family, gifting to friends, or enjoying warm from the oven.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients.
Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto baking sheet.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are soft.
Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake and let them set while cooling.
Swap chocolate chips for white chocolate, or add dried cranberries for variety.
