Description

Breakfast Puff Pastry Pigs in a Blanket are buttery, golden, and perfect for cozy mornings. Simple, easy, and loved by all ages, these treats bring warmth and smiles to the table.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 12 small breakfast sausages
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 12 rectangles.
  3. Optional: Spread Dijon mustard on each rectangle.
  4. Place a sausage (and optional cheese) on each rectangle and fold the pastry around it.
  5. Seal edges with water and place seam-side down on baking tray.
  6. Mix egg and milk; brush over pastries and sprinkle seeds if desired.
  7. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed, rotating tray halfway.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold for best results. Customize with cheese or mustard. Store in fridge up to 3 days; reheat in oven for best texture.
