Description

Brioche French Toast is a cozy, sweet breakfast perfect for family mornings or lazy weekends. Soft, custardy slices of brioche are dipped in a vanilla-cinnamon egg mixture, fried to golden perfection, and served with syrup and berries. This easy recipe brings warmth, love, and indulgence to your breakfast table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices brioche bread (day-old works best)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for frying
  • Maple syrup, fresh berries, and powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Dip brioche slices 15–20 seconds per side in custard.
  3. Heat skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
  4. Cook slices 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
  5. Keep warm in oven while cooking remaining slices.
  6. Serve with syrup, berries, and powdered sugar.

Notes

Use day-old brioche for best texture. Don’t over-soak slices. Reheat in oven for crispiness. Optional: add chocolate chips or almond butter for a twist.
