- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp high-quality matcha powder
- ½ cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty, then cool slightly.
- Whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until smooth. Add vanilla.
- Stir in the browned butter until fully incorporated.
- Sift flour, matcha, cocoa, and salt; fold into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips gently.
- Pour into greased and parchment-lined 8×8-inch pan. Smooth the top.
- Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Slightly underbake for fudgier brownies. Swap semi-sweet chocolate chips for white chocolate for a twist. Store in an airtight container or freeze individually for convenience.
