- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 150g unsalted butter
- 250g caster sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 100g plain flour
- 30g cocoa powder
- ½ tsp salt
- Optional: 100g chopped nuts or chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20cm square tin with parchment.
- Melt dark chocolate and butter until smooth.
- Whisk eggs and sugar until pale, then add vanilla extract.
- Fold in chocolate-butter mixture.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold gently. Add nuts or chunks if using.
- Pour into tin and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 mins until top is set but center remains fudgy.
- Cool 10 mins before slicing.
Notes
Use high-quality dark chocolate for best results. Avoid overmixing the batter once flour is added. Can be stored in an airtight container for 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
