Ingredients
Scale
- 6 thick slices brioche bread
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter for cooking
Instructions
- Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
- Dip each slice of brioche into the custard, allowing it to soak briefly on both sides.
- Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Cook each slice for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm with maple syrup or powdered sugar.
Notes
Use slightly stale brioche for best results. Mini chocolate chips distribute more evenly. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat gently in a pan or oven.
