Description

This Classic Asparagus Quiche is a creamy and elegant dish perfect for brunch, lunch, or light dinners. Fresh asparagus, eggs, cream, and cheese come together in a flaky crust to create a comforting yet sophisticated recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (9-inch)
  • 200 g fresh asparagus
  • 4 large eggs
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 120 ml whole milk
  • 120 g grated Gruyère or cheddar cheese
  • 1 small shallot, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Place pie crust in a pie pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  3. Trim asparagus and cut into pieces.
  4. Sauté shallots in olive oil for 2 minutes.
  5. Whisk eggs, cream, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  6. Sprinkle cheese over crust.
  7. Add asparagus and shallots.
  8. Pour egg mixture over filling.
  9. Bake 35–40 minutes until set.
  10. Cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Use fresh asparagus for the best flavor. Gruyère cheese adds a delicious nutty taste. Let the quiche rest before slicing so the filling sets properly. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
