Description

This Classic Banana Bread Recipe is moist, sweet, and incredibly easy to make. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or tea time, it uses overripe bananas and simple pantry ingredients to create a cozy, comforting loaf that everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 3 large overripe bananas, mashed
  • 125g unsalted butter, melted
  • 150g light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 190g all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 50g chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl until mostly smooth.
  3. Stir in melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Add baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and fold in the flour gently.
  5. Fold in nuts if using.
  6. Pour batter into pan and smooth top.
  7. Bake 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool 10–15 minutes in pan, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for natural sweetness. Don’t overmix flour—batter should remain slightly lumpy. Store airtight for 4 days or freeze up to 3 months. Optional: add chocolate chips or shredded coconut for variation.
