Description

Rich, fudgy, and irresistibly chocolatey, these Classic Chocolate Brownies are a family favorite. Melt dark chocolate and butter, stir in sugar, eggs, flour, cocoa, and a pinch of salt, then bake until gooey perfection. Perfect for cozy afternoons, celebrations, or a chocolatey treat anytime.


Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 175g unsalted butter
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 100g plain flour
  • 30g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional: 100g walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F. Line a 20x20cm tin with parchment.
  2. Melt chocolate and butter together. Cool slightly.
  3. Stir in sugar and vanilla.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Fold in sifted flour, cocoa, and salt gently.
  6. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour into tin and smooth. Bake 25–30 mins.
  8. Cool 15 mins before slicing.

Notes

Avoid overmixing flour for fudgy brownies. Sprinkle sea salt on top for flavor boost. Store airtight for 4 days; freeze up to 2 months.
