Description

These Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate. Perfect for family gatherings, school treats, or a cozy afternoon snack, they bring warmth and happiness to every bite.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 225g unsalted butter, softened
  • 150g granulated sugar
  • 150g light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 300g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 300g chocolate chips
  • Optional: 50g chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line baking sheets.
  2. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips (and nuts).
  6. Scoop dough onto sheets.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges golden.
  8. Cool on sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

Chill dough for thicker cookies. Don’t overmix flour. Can freeze dough or baked cookies for later enjoyment.
