- 1 packet instant yeast (7g)
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Activate yeast in warm milk with sugar.
- Mix in butter, egg, salt, and flour to form dough.
- Knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until doubled.
- Roll dough into rectangle; spread butter and sprinkle cinnamon-sugar.
- Roll tightly and slice into 12 rolls. Place in baking dish and let rise again.
- Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Mix glaze ingredients; drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
Use warm milk (not hot) to avoid killing yeast. Second rise ensures soft, fluffy rolls. Add nuts or raisins for variation. Store airtight; reheat for best flavor.
