Ingredients
Scale
- 1 prepared 9-inch pie crust
- 1 bunch asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère or cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté asparagus for 3–4 minutes.
- Spread shredded cheese evenly in the crust.
- Add asparagus over the cheese.
- Whisk eggs, cream, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg.
- Pour egg mixture over the asparagus.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the center sets.
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use fresh asparagus for the best flavor. Gruyère cheese adds richness, but cheddar also works well. Allow the quiche to rest before slicing so the filling sets properly. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to four days.
