This easy lasagna is layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella. Perfect for family dinners or make-ahead meals, it’s comforting, delicious, and simple to make.

- 12 lasagna sheets
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 800 g canned chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 500 g ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
- Brown ground beef, then add tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer 15 minutes.
- Mix ricotta cheese with egg.
- Spread a layer of sauce in a baking dish, cover with lasagna sheets, then ricotta and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Lasagna can be made ahead and refrigerated. Freeze portions for later. No-boil sheets save time. Substitute turkey or vegetables for a lighter version.
