Description

This easy lasagna is layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella. Perfect for family dinners or make-ahead meals, it’s comforting, delicious, and simple to make.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna sheets
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 800 g canned chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 500 g ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
  3. Brown ground beef, then add tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer 15 minutes.
  4. Mix ricotta cheese with egg.
  5. Spread a layer of sauce in a baking dish, cover with lasagna sheets, then ricotta and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with remaining sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  7. Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Lasagna can be made ahead and refrigerated. Freeze portions for later. No-boil sheets save time. Substitute turkey or vegetables for a lighter version.
