- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder (culinary grade)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift together flour, cocoa, matcha, and salt. Fold into wet mixture gently.
- Stir in white chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 25–30 minutes; toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
Sift matcha to avoid clumps. Fold gently for fudgy texture. Store in airtight container; freeze for later enjoyment.
