Ingredients

  • 200g unsalted butter
  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 250g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 30g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: 100g chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth.
  3. Whisk in sugar, then eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in sifted flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  5. Add optional chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
  6. Pour batter into pan and bake 25–30 minutes.
  7. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Don’t overmix the flour for fudgy brownies. Use high-quality chocolate for rich flavor. Store in an airtight container for 4 days, or freeze up to 3 months.
