- 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups (250g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 cups (300g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup (90g) white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Sift cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold into wet ingredients gently.
- Spread half the batter in the pan, layer half the strawberries. Top with remaining batter and strawberries. Sprinkle white chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake 30–35 mins until edges are set and center jiggles slightly.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Slightly underbake for fudgy texture.
- Use chilled strawberries to keep shape.
- Espresso powder enhances chocolate depth.
- Store in an airtight container up to 3 days; freeze for 3 months.
