Description

I created this Garlic-Free Basil Pesto as a fresh, comforting twist on traditional pesto. It is creamy, vibrant, and completely garlic-free, perfect for pasta, sandwiches, and dipping. I love how simple ingredients come together into something so flavorful and soothing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves (packed)
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts (toasted)
  • 12 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 23 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry basil leaves.
  2. Add basil, pine nuts, and Parmesan to processor.
  3. Pulse until chopped.
  4. Slowly add olive oil while blending.
  5. Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  6. Blend until creamy.
  7. Adjust with water if needed.
  8. Serve fresh or store.

Notes

Use fresh basil for best flavor. Toast pine nuts for richness. Store with olive oil layer on top. Freeze in cubes for easy future use.
