Description

This Lemon Basil Pesto is a fresh, vibrant homemade sauce made with basil, lemon, garlic, Parmesan, and olive oil. It’s bright, zesty, and perfect for pasta, sandwiches, or grilled dishes. Ready in just 10 minutes, it brings a burst of Mediterranean flavor to your kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add basil, garlic, and pine nuts to a food processor.
  2. Pulse until chopped.
  3. Slowly add olive oil while blending.
  4. Add Parmesan, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  5. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve fresh or store in a jar.

Notes

Toast pine nuts for deeper flavor. Store in fridge up to 5 days with olive oil on top. Freeze in ice cube trays for long-term use. Add extra lemon juice for more brightness.
