- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- Optional: 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and mix with granulated sugar. Let cool slightly.
- Beat in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla.
- Whisk together flour, matcha, and salt; fold into wet ingredients.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth top.
- Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar, dollop over batter, and swirl with a toothpick.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use high-quality matcha for best flavor. Don’t overmix cream cheese swirl. Optional: add white chocolate chips for extra gooeyness. Store in airtight container up to 3 days, refrigerate up to a week, or freeze for 2 months.
