Description

Soft, chewy, and delightfully green, these Matcha Brownies with White Chocolate Chunks combine earthy matcha with melty white chocolate for a comforting homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 180g unsalted butter
  • 200g white chocolate, chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120g plain flour
  • 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment.
  2. Melt butter and half the chocolate chunks over simmering water; let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy, then add vanilla extract.
  4. Fold melted butter mixture into eggs gently.
  5. Sift in flour, matcha, and salt; fold until just combined.
  6. Fold in remaining white chocolate chunks.
  7. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake 25–28 minutes until edges set, center slightly soft.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Sift matcha powder for smooth color. Use high-quality white chocolate chunks. Do not overbake; center should stay slightly soft.
