- 1/4 cup black sesame seeds, plus extra for topping

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and stir in sugar until glossy.
- Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
- Sift together flour, mochiko, matcha, and salt; fold into wet mixture.
- Fold in black sesame seeds and optional white chocolate chunks.
- Pour batter into prepared pan; smooth the top and sprinkle reserved sesame seeds.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly sticky.
- Cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
Use high-quality matcha for a vibrant color. Lightly toast black sesame seeds to enhance flavor. Do not overbake to preserve the chewy mochi texture. Store in an airtight container or freeze for longer storage.
