Description

These Mini Red Velvet Waffles are soft, fluffy, and full of sweet cocoa flavor. Perfect for cozy breakfasts, brunches, or as a fun dessert, these bite-sized waffles are easy to make and perfect for sharing with family and friends.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp red food coloring
  • Optional: chocolate chips or sprinkles
  • For serving: cream cheese frosting, whipped cream, fresh berries, maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat mini waffle iron and grease with oil or non-stick spray.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, egg, vanilla, and red food coloring until smooth.
  4. Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients gently; small lumps are fine.
  5. Spoon batter into waffle iron, filling each cavity 3/4 full.
  6. Cook 3–4 minutes until crisp outside and springy inside.
  7. Remove carefully, repeat until all batter is used.
  8. Serve warm with cream cheese frosting, berries, or syrup.

Notes

Don’t overmix batter; it keeps waffles tender. Use mini ice cream scoop for uniform size. Freeze cooled waffles for up to 1 month. Reheat in toaster or oven to crisp edges.
