Description

Oven-roasted asparagus with Parmesan is a simple, delicious side dish perfect for weeknights or special dinners. Tender asparagus spears with caramelized tips meet nutty Parmesan for an irresistible combination.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Trim asparagus and place on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and toss.
  3. Sprinkle with garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  4. Roast for 12–15 minutes, shaking pan halfway through.
  5. Sprinkle Parmesan over asparagus and return to oven for 2–3 minutes until golden.
  6. Serve immediately, optionally with lemon wedges.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan — space allows even roasting. Freshly grated Parmesan provides the best flavor. Roast at high heat for caramelized, crisp tips. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
