- 175g unsalted butter
- 325g caster sugar
- 130g plain flour
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20cm square tin with parchment paper.
- Melt chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- Beat in sugar until glossy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Fold in flour and salt gently.
- Add walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into tin, smooth the top.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until edges are firm and center soft.
- Cool 10 minutes in tin, then transfer to wire rack before cutting.
Notes
