- 200g dark chocolate
- 175g unsalted butter
- 250g granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 100g plain flour
- 30g cocoa powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 100g chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20cm square baking tin.
- Melt chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- Whisk in sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Fold in flour, cocoa, and salt. Add nuts if using.
- Pour into tin and smooth top.
- Bake 25–30 mins. Edges set, center soft.
- Cool completely, then cut into squares.
Notes
Don’t overmix after adding flour. Use quality chocolate for best flavor. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream. Store airtight up to 5 days, or freeze for 3 months.
