Description

A warm, buttery Rustic Strawberry Galette filled with juicy baked strawberries wrapped in a flaky golden crust. A simple, homemade dessert full of rustic charm and flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 35 tbsp ice water
  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Add ice water to form dough.
  4. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Mix strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla.
  6. Roll dough into a circle.
  7. Add filling to center.
  8. Fold edges over filling.
  9. Brush with egg wash.
  10. Bake until golden and bubbling.

Notes

Keep butter cold for flaky crust. Do not overfill. Best served warm with ice cream. Can substitute strawberries with berries or peaches.
