- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons high-quality matcha powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional: ½ cup (90g) white chocolate chunks or macadamia nuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
- Whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Sift flour, cornstarch, matcha, baking powder, and salt. Fold gently into wet mixture.
- Fold in optional white chocolate or nuts.
- Pour batter into pan, spread evenly.
- Bake 25–30 min until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares.
