Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons high-quality matcha powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: ½ cup (90g) white chocolate chunks or macadamia nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
  2. Whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Sift flour, cornstarch, matcha, baking powder, and salt. Fold gently into wet mixture.
  5. Fold in optional white chocolate or nuts.
  6. Pour batter into pan, spread evenly.
  7. Bake 25–30 min until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Sift matcha to avoid clumps.
  • Fold gently for tender bars.
  • Underbake slightly for extra fudginess.
  • Store in airtight container at room temp for 3 days, fridge for 1 week, or freeze for 2 months.
