- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (100g) pastel-colored sanding sugar
- 1/2 cup (50g) powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into wet ingredients.
- Scoop dough and roll in powdered sugar, then pastel-colored sanding sugar.
- Place 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Cool 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
Use softened, not melted, butter for best texture. Chill dough if too soft. Sprinkle extra pastel sugar after baking. Store in airtight container up to 5 days or freeze dough for later.
