  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped finely
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves or jam
  • For Frosting: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • Fresh strawberries for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream 1 cup butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt; alternate adding with milk to wet mixture.
  5. Fold in chopped strawberries and preserves gently.
  6. Pour batter into pan, smooth top, bake 35–40 minutes. Cool completely.
  7. For frosting: beat butter, gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth.
  8. Spread frosting over cooled cake and top with fresh strawberries.
