- ½ cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

- Maple syrup or honey, for serving
- Fresh berries or sliced bananas, optional
Instructions
- Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt in a shallow bowl.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Dip bread slices in egg mixture, letting excess drip off.
- Cook bread slices 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
- Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
- Serve with syrup, fruits, or powdered sugar.
Notes
Use slightly stale bread for best results. Don’t rush soaking – 20–30 seconds per side is perfect. Reheat leftover slices in a skillet or toaster to retain crispness.
