Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let sit 5 min.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt; mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead 8–10 min until smooth.
  4. Let dough rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
  5. Roll into rectangle, spread butter, sprinkle filling.
  6. Roll tightly, cut into 12 rolls.
  7. Let rise 30–45 min; preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake 25–30 min until golden.
  9. Prepare icing and drizzle over slightly cooled rolls.

Notes

Ensure milk is warm, not hot. Dough should double in size for fluffiness. Rolls can be stored in an airtight container for 3 days or refrigerated overnight.
