- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 oz white chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 oz white chocolate, chopped (middle layer)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (middle layer)
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chunks or chips (topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and 8 oz white chocolate together until smooth.
- Stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, whisking well.
- Fold in vanilla extract and sifted matcha powder, then flour and salt until just combined.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Heat heavy cream until simmering and pour over 6 oz chopped white chocolate; stir until smooth and spread over brownie base.
- Spread remaining brownie batter over white chocolate layer and sprinkle with white chocolate chunks.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is set but the center is slightly soft.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use high-quality matcha for the best flavor and color. Avoid overbaking to maintain fudgy layers. Store in an airtight container up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
