Description

Indulge in a sophisticated twist on the ultimate comfort food. This Chicken Alfredo Lasagna replaces traditional red sauce with a luxurious, silky parmesan cream base, layered with tender shredded chicken and al dente pasta. It is a crowd-pleasing, hearty Italian-American dinner option that balances rich, cheesy flavors with a velvety texture, perfect for family gatherings where a cheese-forward, non-traditional lasagna is desired.

Ingredients

Scale

12 lasagna noodle sheets (no-boil or pre-boiled)
3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
3 cups heavy cream
2 cups parmesan cheese, freshly grated
3 cups mozzarella cheese, low moisture
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs (basil and parsley)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, being careful not to brown.
Whisk in the heavy cream and simmer until the liquid reduces by twenty percent.
Stir in the parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and coats the back of a spoon.
Fold the shredded cooked chicken into the white sauce mixture.
Spread a small amount of sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Place a layer of noodles over the sauce, followed by a portion of the chicken-alfredo mixture and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of mozzarella on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

Ensure all noodles are fully coated in sauce to prevent dried or crunchy edges during the extended bake time. For best results, grate your parmesan cheese from a block rather than using pre-grated varieties to ensure the sauce emulsifies properly. Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes after removing from the oven to ensure clean, beautiful slices.
