Ingredients
1.5 lbs 85/15 ground beef
48 oz high-quality marinara sauce
15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 box lasagna noodles
1 large egg
Instructions
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through.
Drain excess fat thoroughly from the skillet.
Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer on low for 10 minutes to thicken.
In a bowl, combine ricotta, half of the parmesan, and the egg until smooth.
Spread 1 cup of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
Place a layer of noodles over the sauce, trimming to fit.
Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella over the ricotta.
Repeat layering process until all ingredients are used.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) until bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
Use no-boil noodles for convenience or traditional noodles for a classic texture. Shred your own mozzarella for better melting quality compared to pre-shredded bags. Let the lasagna rest for 15 minutes before serving to ensure clean slices.
