Description
Experience the classic, comforting taste of Southern-style peach cobbler without the alcohol. This delightful dessert features juicy, sun-ripened peaches infused with the woody, vanilla-rich notes of non-alcoholic bourbon extract. Topped with a golden, buttery biscuit crust that provides the perfect contrast in texture, this cobbler is a family-friendly treat that highlights the best of seasonal produce. It is best served warm, ideally with a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to round out the rich, caramelized fruit flavors.
Ingredients
6 cups fresh peaches, sliced 1/2 inch thick
1/2 cup granulated white cane sugar
2 tablespoons non-alcoholic bourbon extract
1.5 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/2 cup milk
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, and non-alcoholic bourbon extract in a large glass bowl, tossing until evenly coated.
Transfer the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, a small amount of additional sugar (optional), and baking powder.
Cut the cold, cubed butter into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
Stir in the milk until a thick, shaggy dough forms.
Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough evenly over the peach filling.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure your butter is very cold to achieve the flakiest biscuit crust possible. You can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the flour mixture for extra warmth. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
