Ingredients
2 cans (14.5 oz) green beans, drained
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1 1/2 cups fried onions, divided
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Drain the canned green beans completely using a colander.
In a large bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper until smooth.
Fold in the drained green beans and 3/4 cup of the fried onions into the soup mixture.
Pour the mixture into a 1.5-quart casserole dish and spread into an even layer.
Bake for 25 minutes until the sauce is bubbling.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining 3/4 cup of fried onions over the top, and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
Notes
Ensure the green beans are well-drained to avoid a watery casserole. For a richer flavor, you may substitute the whole milk with heavy cream. Keep an eye on the oven during the final 5 minutes to ensure the fried onions do not burn.
