Ingredients
6 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
Toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl.
Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, and brown sugar.
Cut the cold butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
Bake for 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
Notes
Ensure the butter is truly cold when cutting it into the dry ingredients to achieve the best crumbly texture. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
