Description

This classic, comforting beef lasagna is the perfect beginner-friendly meal that delivers restaurant-quality flavor with minimal effort. Featuring layers of savory ground beef, robust tomato marinara, creamy ricotta, and melted cheeses, this recipe streamlines the process by using the sauce’s moisture to cook the noodles perfectly in the oven. It is a hearty, sliceable, and delicious casserole that makes an ideal choice for cozy weeknight dinners or casual family gatherings, ensuring a consistent and satisfying result every single time.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (85/15 lean ratio)
24 oz quality jarred marinara sauce
15 oz full-fat ricotta cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
0.5 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 box lasagna noodles (no-boil or regular)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains, then drain the grease.
Stir the marinara sauce into the beef and let it simmer for five minutes.
Spread one cup of the meat sauce into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Place a single layer of noodles over the sauce.
Spread one-third of the ricotta cheese over the noodles and sprinkle with one-third of the mozzarella.
Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a final topping of mozzarella and parmesan.
Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes after baking to ensure clean slices. If using regular (not no-boil) noodles, soaking them in hot tap water for 10 minutes can speed up the cooking process. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
