Description

This Easy Homemade Focaccia is soft, airy, and golden with a crisp olive oil crust and fragrant rosemary. I make it simple, comforting, and perfect for beginners who want bakery-style bread at home.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 350ml warm water
  • 7g instant yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt
  • Optional: olives, cherry tomatoes, garlic

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add flour and salt and mix into sticky dough.
  3. Add olive oil and gently combine.
  4. Let dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Transfer to oiled baking tray and stretch.
  6. Rest again for 20–30 minutes.
  7. Create dimples using fingers.
  8. Drizzle olive oil and add toppings.
  9. Bake at 200°C for 20–25 minutes.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, allow slow fermentation for deeper flavor. Use extra virgin olive oil for authentic taste. Store at room temperature for 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
