Description
Achieve restaurant-quality tenderness at home with these easy oven-baked beef ribs. By utilizing a slow-cook process at a low temperature inside a foil-sealed packet, the connective tissues break down into succulent, fall-off-the-bone perfection. This method is foolproof, requiring nothing more than simple pantry staples, patience, and a high-quality dry rub. Perfect for families, these beef ribs offer a deep, savory, and caramelized flavor profile without the need for a smoker or outdoor grill.
Ingredients
4 lbs beef short ribs (well-marbled)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs using a sharp knife.
Pat the beef ribs dry using clean paper towels.
Combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
Rub the spice mixture generously over all surfaces of the ribs, pressing firmly to adhere.
Wrap the ribs tightly in two layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil to create a sealed environment.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 3 hours, or until the meat retracts from the bone ends.
Carefully open the foil and serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure you remove the silver skin to achieve the best texture. If you prefer a darker crust, you can place the ribs under the broiler for 2-3 minutes after the 3-hour bake, but watch them closely to avoid burning the sugars.
