Description

This easy rice pilaf is light, fluffy, and full of buttery flavor. Made with simple pantry ingredients, toasted rice, and savory broth, it’s the perfect side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until clear.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a saucepan.
  3. Sauté onion until soft.
  4. Add garlic and cook briefly.
  5. Stir in rice and toast for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add broth, salt, and pepper.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
  8. Cover and simmer for 15–18 minutes.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Fluff and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Rinse rice for best texture. Toasting adds flavor. Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 4 days.
