- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until clear.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a saucepan.
- Sauté onion until soft.
- Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Stir in rice and toast for 2–3 minutes.
- Add broth, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer for 15–18 minutes.
- Let rest for 5 minutes.
- Fluff and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Rinse rice for best texture. Toasting adds flavor. Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 4 days.
