Description

Focaccia with Olives is a soft, golden Italian bread infused with olive oil and topped with savory olives and herbs. I love baking it for family meals, gatherings, or simply to enjoy fresh warm bread at home. It’s easy, comforting, and deeply flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g strong white bread flour
  • 325ml warm water
  • 7g active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 120g olives (green or black)
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water until foamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add yeast mixture and olive oil to form dough.
  4. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let dough rise until doubled in size.
  6. Spread dough into baking tray and create dimples.
  7. Press olives into the dough surface.
  8. Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle rosemary.
  9. Bake until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the dough rise slowly or refrigerate overnight. You can add cherry tomatoes, garlic, or onions for variation. Store in airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
