Description

Achieve perfectly tender, succulent corn on the cob every time with this simple foil-grilling method. By sealing the corn in individual foil packets, the kernels steam in their own juices, absorbing the rich flavor of butter, garlic, and fresh herbs. This technique eliminates the risk of burning and ensures the corn remains perfectly moist from the first bite to the last, making it the ideal side dish for any summer barbecue or casual weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

4 ears sweet corn, husked or unhusked
4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp kosher salt
0.5 tsp black pepper, freshly cracked
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

Preheat your outdoor gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat, approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove husks and silk from the corn cobs completely if preferred.
Place each ear of corn onto its own large sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter evenly over the surface of each individual corn cob.
Evenly sprinkle the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder across the buttered corn.
Wrap the foil tightly around each ear of corn, crimping the edges securely to trap steam.
Place the foil packets directly onto the grill grates.
Grill for 20 minutes, turning once halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Carefully open the packets, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Ensure the foil is sealed tightly to lock in the steam for the best texture. You can substitute sea salt for kosher salt if unavailable. Adding a pinch of smoked paprika can add a subtle depth of flavor if desired.
