Description

I make this Greek Honey Cake as a soft, moist Mediterranean dessert soaked in warm honey syrup. It is fragrant with cinnamon, rich with olive oil, and perfect for sharing with family or friends. Every bite melts in your mouth with golden sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and grease baking pan.
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add yogurt and olive oil and mix well.
  4. Fold in dry ingredients.
  5. Add walnuts.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden.
  7. Simmer honey syrup ingredients for 10 minutes.
  8. Pour syrup over hot cake.
  9. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality honey for best flavor. Let the cake rest overnight for deeper taste. You can replace walnuts with almonds or omit nuts. Store in airtight container for up to 6 days.
