1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and place the empty baking dish in the oven to heat up.
In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches with half a cup of sugar and the cinnamon.
Toss the fruit until evenly coated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining half cup of sugar, flour, and baking powder.
Stir the milk and melted butter into the dry ingredients until just combined.
Carefully remove the hot baking dish from the oven and pour the peach mixture into it.
Pour the batter evenly over the peaches without stirring.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
Notes
If fresh peaches are out of season, high-quality frozen slices work perfectly as a substitute. You can use plant-based butter and milk for a dairy-free variation. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
