Description
This simple butter rice pilaf is fluffy, buttery, and full of comforting flavor. Toasted rice cooked in rich broth with garlic and onion creates the perfect easy side dish for any meal.

- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft and lightly golden.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add rinsed rice and toast for 2–3 minutes.
- Pour in broth, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork and garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
Rinse rice well before cooking for fluffy texture. Use warm broth for even cooking. Do not stir during simmering. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat with a splash of broth.
