Description

This Slow Cooker Apple Crisp is a delightful, hands-off dessert that perfectly captures the essence of fall. Combining tender, cinnamon-spiced Granny Smith apples with a golden, buttery oat crumble, this recipe turns your slow cooker into a dessert powerhouse. It creates a rich, caramelized fruit base while keeping the topping satisfyingly crisp. Ideal for busy weeknights or stress-free entertaining, this dish fills your home with a warm, comforting aroma and delivers a consistent, delicious result every time.

Ingredients

Scale

6 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for apple toss)

Instructions

Peel, core, and slice apples into half-inch wedges.
Toss apples in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Spread the apple mixture evenly into the bottom of the slow cooker.
In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and remaining cinnamon.
Cut the cold butter into the dry mixture using a pastry cutter or fingers until crumbly.
Spread the topping evenly over the apples.
Cover and cook on high for 3.5 hours until apples are tender and topping is set.

Notes

Use Honeycrisp apples if you prefer a sweeter flavor profile. Gluten-free flour can be used as a substitute for all-purpose flour. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
